Yeah, sure I can.
Photoshop is awesome, cool, and fantastic and allows you to make almost impossible alterations to photos. How many times have you heard someone say, “Oh, you can just Photoshop that, right?” As a busy photographer, I hear this every day.
Can you swap my son’s head in this photo, with the other photo? I like that smile better. Yes, of course I can!
I have wrinkles, can you remove those? No problem!
I didn’t have time to get my roots touched up; can you fix my hair color? In a jiffy!
Can you remove my braces? Yup, sure can.
I love Photoshop. It’s great. It’s amazing. It’s my love. It’s also TIME-CONSUMING.
I recently had a client order the business headshot package. She paid top dollar and she paid extra for make-up and hair styling. The package allowed her to choose 7 images for retouching (aka Photoshopping). She ended up choosing 15 because she couldn’t decide which ones she liked best. Images take about 45 minutes to retouch, so those extra 8 images meant an extra 6 hours of work for me.
Why didn’t I charge her $25 extra per edit? Because she had paid a premium price and she was a referral from someone who has given me many referrals. Not to mention that I will have two photo credits in Top Agent Magazine.
While I can’t give that kind of extra time to all my clients, my goal is to deliver pictures that go beyond what my clients are expecting, pictures that will bring huge smiles onto their faces as they see images of themselves and their families that they will cherish for many years.
Have you ever wondered why you have to wait weeks or even months to see your images with most photographers? It may not be because the photographer has tons of business but rather because on an average computer, it takes 20 minutes to upload one high-resolution image. If the photographer has 100 RAW images to upload from a family portrait session, we’re talking about more than 30 hours of upload time. Then the photographer has to organize the images, select and retouch the best ones, and discard the ones that just aren’t good enough.
Here at Indigo Moments Photography, we have more than 16,000 hours of experience with Photoshop. We use a 27” iMac with Retina 5K display to process images in seconds, not minutes, and then we can begin retouching. Luckily for my clients, I’m almost always able to turn pictures around within 3 to 7 days. In an emergency, I can process business headshots in 24 hours.
So, if you want high-quality photos, great customer service, and quick turnaround, Indigo Moments Photography is the place to go!
